And all over the world elm is not only regarded as a most majestic tree, but also useful because of its strong and beautiful wood.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col\">\nSince 1922 this tree is in constant danger: The enemy is a tiny fungus by name of <em>Ophiostoma ulmi<\/em>. And this fungus is transported mainly by the elm beetle <em>(Scolytus scolytus<\/em> or <em>Scolytus multistriatus)<\/em> which lives on the elm.
