Proof of Resistence
resista® elms are highly resistant. This must be verified regularily by independent institutions. In standardized tests all different varieties are inocculated with extremely high doses of the spores of Ophiostoma novo-ulmi compared to trees without treatment. It is not possible to have varieties completely immune, without die-back and wilting of leaves, but the re-growth the next year must be safe.
The resista® elm variety ’New Horizon’ so far has written a fantastic story: Since 1993 until 2016 more than 45.000 trees have been planted throughout Europe and so far not one tree was reported dead due to Dutch Elm Disease.
